The red seal mark on the top of the vase translates to mean “Made during Qianlong period.” The Qianlong Emperor ruled from 1736-1795. The text on the piece includes characters that translate to mean “Made in Jingdezhen” which is a city famous for its porcelain production since the sixth century CE. The vase is decorated in the “Famille Rose” style which is characterized by the use of opaque overglaze rose colors, particularly shades of pink and carmine.
