3 excellent OD-distortion pedals. I’ve just been doing solo gigs since COVID, and have a few great OD’s gathering dust.
All hand made in the USA.
1. Jetter GS124–based on a very specific Dumble circuit. Jetter says that it especially pairs with a Strat neck pickup (it really does give it a thick, throaty sound), but it’s certainly not limited to that. I actually sold my Zendrive when I got this. Excellent condition. I never noticed that the top has a “mottled” appearance—I think it came from the factory like that, as it’s perfectly smooth and the surface is clean. But I’ve taken it into account in pricing:
$89 (Jetter sells them new for $159)
2. OCD—the classic. Goes from low gain OD to crunchy distortion, even into fuzz territory (not super thick and wooly, but pretty big and gritty).
V2–the final version being produced in California by Mike Fuller, before closing down then coming back in partnership with Jackson Audio.
Excellent shape, with original box.
$109. (The ones in production now are $199 new)
3. Lovepedal OD Eleven (OD 11): Sean Michael’s take on the classic “transparent overdrive.” In the “Timmy” range. I’ve had a couple of these and a couple of Timmys over the
years, and settled long ago on the OD Eleven for low-medium gain OD, sculpted boost, or “always on” at the end of the OD chain. I found the
sound to have a nicer ring to it than the Timmy (totally subjective, of course—may just be a function of where it sits relative to where my old age hearing deficiencies sit). But it’s a great pedal, and can be had much cheaper than the Timmy, especially since Paul Cochran stopped building them, and deferred to the mini, mass produced one by MXR.
